Eldrich A. Carr, Jr.


Mr. Carr spent more than 25 years in risk management and insurance management positions.  From 1986 to 2005 he was the Manager, Global Risk Management for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio.  He held previous positions as Risk Manager for Davy, Inc., an architectural/engineering company  building large industrial projects worldwide, and claim management positions for two insurers.  Long a proponent of reducing administration and transaction costs associated with insurance, Mr. Carr was one of the first to use the internet for underwriting submissions and for replacing the insurance certificate process.  A graduate of Southwest Missouri State University and Drury College with BS and MBA degrees in Business Administration respectively, he holds Associate in risk Management (ARM) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.  He taught Risk Management and Insurance courses, wrote exam questions for the IIA Claims courses and was a frequent speaker at various national and international  insurance/risk management related activities. He was past President of the Northeast Ohio RIMS chapter, Chairperson of the RIMS International Cooperation Committee, a member of various other Risk Management organizations and served on the advisory boards of two insurers.
